May 2026 Meeting

IPSWICH B.S. MAY MEETING                                                    by Ghalib Al-Nasser

The society invited Simon Gage as their guest judge at the May meeting to judge the Young Bird show. Members brought 26 owner bred young birds and were divided into 6 classes. The winners of the classes were as follows: Ghalib & Janice Al-Nasser (any normal green or blue series with a skyblue cock & any colour budgerigar with a light green cock). Martin Frost won the following classes (any opaline, cinnamon or opaline cinnamon with a cinnamon olive green hen, any redeye, spangle or pied with a recessive pied violet hen and any other colour class with a white blue cock).  Andy Brooks won the any Barrhead class with a cinnamon violet hen. Eventually Simon selected the Barrhead hen of Andy to be the best in show. During judging Simon explained the reasons for his placing for each class and the members present enjoyed the evening and the participation in the show.
