Ipswich BS had their May monthly meeting. This month brought the top speaker and very well-known and respected Chris Snell. This visitor attracted a large turnout of 22 members who were all interested to hear Chris speak. Chris joined the BS in 1966 and is now the President elect. He is very well known as a top judge and began his judging career in 1981.He is very proud that in 1984 he won Best in show at the club show. He has gone on to win many other awards at the BS and local shows. Chris then conducted a question and answer session. It was a lively interesting session and at one point Chris felt confident enough to use the Chairman’s Gavel to bring some order to the evening. This brought laughter all around the room.

Chris is a strong advocate of feeding his birds a large variety of food. His particular favourite is chickweed which he actively seeks out. He will also plant and seed his own chickweed. Other ingredients he uses  in his soft food includes Brown bread and Soya milk,Honey,Complan,Organic carrots,Fennel.Apple,mint and other herbs,Frosties,wheatgerm,cusscuss,lemon juice,to name a few.

 At the conclusion of the night, Ghalib Al-Nasser presented him with a token of the clubs appreciation.

Next month (May) is the clubs Young bird table show. Which will include 2 classes for bar heads and moulted young birds
