Club Young Stock Show and BBQ 2023 – Ipswich Budgerigar Society

This years Annual Young Stock show and BBQ is being held in Peter and Sandra’s grounds on July 2nd 2023

This year’s Club members show and BBQ was held early July 2023. It was well supported by members who brought along a total of 68 birds. Laura O’Reilly kindly agreed to attend and judge the birds. There were 32 classes to judge. Historically this show has been a Young stock show so the best Bird is always the Best Young Bird. Laura judged this to be a splendid Grey Cock bird bred by Bill and Steve Squires. Best Opposite sex was a Grey Hen again bred by Steve and Bill Squires. Winning again with the Best any age was a a lovely Grey Yellow face dominant pied cock was Bill and Steve Squires. Best Opposite sex was a Sky Blue Hen bred by John Gibbens. Best pair was bred by Andy Brooks which were a well match pair of white Double factor Spangles.

The Show and BBQ was held at the lovely home and gardens of Peter and Sandra Stevens. The weather was kind and the sun even made an appearance. Sandra and her helpers laid on their usual splendid feast. The members all had a very enjoyable afternoon with the successful raffle making over a £100.The club Chairman Ghalib Al-Nasser thanked all those involved in making the day a success.
